There are 6 teams and 15 matches in Nepal Volleyball League (NVL) in 2024/25.
The logo and slogan of the men’s franchise league NVL have been unveiled.
The logo and slogan of the volleyball league were unveiled in the presence of Youth and Sports Minister Tejulal Chaudhary at a program on Tuesday.
The slogan ‘Uchai Ko Naya Udan’ was unveiled at the program. Kedia Group Director Ashwin Kedia has put forward the slogan ‘Uchai Ko Naya Udan’ with the aim of taking Nepali volleyball to greater heights.
The first season of the Nepal Volleyball League will start in March 2025.
The league will feature the best players from different regions across the country as well as various international players.
The tournament will ensure the participation of the best volleyball players from all over Nepal and aims to create new opportunities for the players and take the level of Nepali volleyball to new heights, according to Kedia Group.
NVL Admin and Operations Head Bikas Khaitan informed that 6 teams will participate in the first edition of the league and the matches will be played on a single round robin basis. According to him, there will be a total of 15 matches in the league that will last for 9 days and the final match will be between the top two teams in the league. Similarly, it is said that each team will have a total of 12 players, 9 Nepali and 3 foreign players.
A 7-year agreement has been signed between the Nepal Volleyball Association and Kedia Group for the franchise league of men’s volleyball in last Jestha. According to the agreement, Kedia Group will provide 3.5 million rupees to the Nepal Volleyball Association every year.
President Bimal Kedia said that he has planned to take Nepal’s national game volleyball to new heights on the national and international stage through the Nepal Volleyball League.
At the program, a member of the U-20 Nepali national team who won the silver medal in the Kabha Men’s Volleyball Competition held in Sri Lanka was honored with cash.
